Smartgenx at PIICON 2024:
SmartGenx Pvt Ltd is proud to be part of this event and was represented by Mohammed Shaban, Sustainability Energy Analyst, and Dr. Vivek Prakash, our Research Consultant. Their collaboration, along with assistance from the wider team at SmartGenx, resulted in a paper that presented important findings on this important topic of carbon markets.
Track Presentation:
Under Track 7: Energy Management, Electricity Markets, and Policy/Regulatory Aspects, we presented our research paper, “Carbon Market Scenario: Challenges and Opportunities” (Paper ID: 111). The study explored the development and operation of carbon markets, from the Kyoto Protocol to the Paris Agreement. It highlighted:
The paper explained how these mechanisms drive emissions reductions and promote global collaboration for sustainability, all of which align flawlessly with Smartgenx’s commitment to climate action.
Panel Discussion Insights:
An interesting panel discussion took place after the presentation which brought more insights into the carbon market trading system and carbon credits. The need to normalize the carbon credit trading system and employ market mechanisms to attain sustainability goals occurred during the panel discussion.
